Art Studio practice drawing inspiration from botany, microscopy, and organic life.
Working together since 2005 alongside community leaders, engineers and architects, ErlandKaman have created elegant artworks for civic and corporate clients such as universities and municipalities from Los Angeles to New York. You can help the artists. Invite them to offer a slide lecture. Recommend their work to a community organizer or a developer near you.
ErlandKaman have an East coast base in the Historic Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia--a city with a rich legacy of public art--home to a world class art museum, symphony, ballet, architecture, vibrant murals and timeless outdoor sculptures. Philadelphia was the first capital of the United States of America--and the first city laid out by landscape architect. Kaman and Erland welcome visitors to their sculpture studio and adjoining sculpture garden within the city that was once known as the Workshop of the World.
ErlandKaman have a West Coast / mobile base in an old Airstream most frequently found along the coastline between Seattle and San Francisco, but spotted on occasion on a residency in Key West, or appearing at a residency in the Berkshires at Chesterwood of the National Historic Trust. This mobile studio allows them the freedom to travel for extended periods to sites of national cultural interest, and pursue the American dream of living on a small carbon footprint.
Support the next phase of creative activity.
Erland is currently designing the next mobile studio: a bluewater catamaran set up for transoceanic journeys and extended art residencies, including an upcoming residency on the Azores Islands of Portugal.
How Can I Help?
You can contribute volunteer hours, a personal visit, or a friendly phone call. Creating art in an interconnected world is a matter of personal discipline and outward exploration, but we always listen to our friends' advice, and some day soon we will be inviting our friends to join us on an island residency. :)
